Our glamping site is stiuated in a private gully nestled into the hillside looking directly onto hundreds of acres of natural bush. We chose this site for its privacy and seclusion. Our livestock graze in adjacent paddocks and there is a dam with eels that attracts a lot of native birdlife.
The site is accessible by 4WD or by a walking track. We can transport you to the site if necessary or provide a farm vehicle for your use. The site is about 150 metres away from the main house.
There are lots of things to do, including feeding the eels in the dam, tramping through to the river, collecting herbs and salad leaves in our foragers garden, brushing the donkeys, feeding the goat or take a picnic on a bush walk.
We have acres of bush for you to tramp in and there is a very picturesque walk down to the Waikato river from our farm. The kids seem to enjoy rolling down the hill or running around as there is so much space!
Soak up the local scenery, enjoy a host of nearby attractions, like the Nikau cave or the Glenbrook Steam Railway, enjoy close proximity to eating places (from McDonalds 3 kms away to local award winning pubs), experience kayaking or even go skydiving at Mercer Airport!
- read stories or play board games by lantern light,
- toast marshmallows over the campfire
- stargaze with no light pollution
We named our tents after cattle breeds. The biggest tent is called Friesian as we farm Friesians. They are the black and white cattle that you see in the top photo. Our 5 metre bell tents are called Angus and Dexter, both longstanding cattle breeds in New Zealand. At the moment, only Angus has been erected and Dexter is waiting patiently for his turn.

About the Landowner, Sasha
From the initial welcoming smell that only a luxury canvas safari tent can offer, to the warmth radiating off the walls and the steam rising from the fly as the first of the suns rays brighten the day, everyone remembers the camping holidays of their childhood.
Your hosts Sasha and Nick have created a farm experience complete with bush walks, picnic sites and farm tours.
As intergenerational farmers, we love to share our love of New Zealand farming with our visitors. We mainly farm poultry, beef cattle and some sheep and are surrounded by other farms including dairy and produce. We are happy to take you on a farm tour or you can pet and feed our goat, lamb, or our donkeys.
