Beach Hideaway is on a coastal beef farm located on the Firth of Thames, and is about an hour's drive from South Auckland. The farm has an abundance of tracks that give access to river walks and bush views across to the Coromandel Peninsula. A stony beach across the road lends itself to rock fishing, swimming or just for a stroll along the water's edge. A short drive south takes you to the local amenities such as a fish and chip shop, hotel, dairy, and garage. The Hauraki Rail Trail is currently being worked on and will be completed in the near future. A little further on is the Miranda Hot Springs and the Pukorokoro Shorebird Centre.

About your host, Andrew and Jan
We live on a beautiful part of the Firth of Thames, about an hour and a half drive from central Auckland. It is a small beef farm and backs on to the Hunua Ranges. The views from the top of the farm give a panoramic vista of sea and native bush. Stony streams wind their way up the farm and into bush clad valleys with waterfalls and rocky gorges.
We are also involved with the Motor Caravan Association and have hosted holiday-makers to the farm for over 25 years. It is always enjoyable meeting new people that come to stay.
Andrew has lived on the farm all his life, while Jan is new to the farming scene due to both our widowed statuses and new marriage.
Andrew and Jan are looking forward to another venture and meeting more new people.
