The hut is a wonderful couples retreat. The views are amazing, the native bush is your backdrop and a big beautiful sky will keep you entertained all day long, no matter the weather. This is a very private place to unwind. The adventure starts on your arrival, the owners will greet you and drive you over the farm to the Hut which is hidden 1.5 kms away. You could take a walk through the bush, along the ridgeline to Kanuka Corner. Have a picnic on the highest hill near the hut, or climb up in the moonlight and stargaze. There is an outdoor fireplace which heats the water for the outside bath, It's a warm place to hang out, while enjoying a glass of wine, then be rewarded with a hot soak under the stars. It's magic!
This is a working dairy farm where you'll see cows grazing, the owners' dogs and horses, plus goats, rabbits, hares, possums, pigs and native birds. For this reason, we cannot accommodate dogs and no hunting on the property.
The hut does have wifi inside, and you can get mobile reception if you climb to the top of the hill... although we recommend disconnecting!
Please note: The Hut is not suitable for children.
The Bush Hut is situated up the Okoki Valley, Urenui, North Taranaki.
Just an hours drive from New Plymouth, 4.5 hours from Auckland or 5 hours from Wellington.
Because of the Huts remote situation it is 4WD drive access only. We have a 4WD to transport you to Rewa Hut, and drop you off. Your car will be securely parked at our home.

We had an amazing time at Rewa Hut! The place was amazing and so full of homely touches that made us feel super comfortable. The weather wasn't great but we kind of loved that, used the time to relax and reset, and thoroughly enjoyed the bath. We'd definitely come back, and stay longer this time!

A simply welcoming, relaxing and cosy place to unwind. The hut has been lovingly created, with all the small details taken care of by Robyn and Paul. It feels like your home away from home set in nature. It has been designed to maximise the incredible views and surroundings.

What an awesome place, a piece of paradise hidden well within Taranaki. The hosts are lovely people and truly have created a great escape. Pack up your vehicle and head away for the weekend or longer. The outdoor bath is amazing, excellent for just kicking back and star gazing.

Great, gracious hosts, very welcoming, had a great time relaxing, unwinding, a little piece of heaven on Earth.
Rewa hut is a beautiful slice of NZ set in native bush, had a wonderful time, Robyn and Paul have made it super comfy and welcoming, all the creature comforts you could think of, came home feeling completely refreshed.
Thanks Robyn and Paul

Wow!! What can I say? We wanted a quiet, secluded stay and this is what we got. Robyn and Paul are wonderful hosts. We arrived to a lovely greeting. When we first saw the hut my face broke into a smile and I don't think it slipped the whole time we were there. We ordered breakfasts and the food was outstanding.
We spent three nights at the hut and the days were stunning. I would get up in the morning, slip on the super fluffy dressing gown, sit out on the sofa on the deck and just sip my coffee in awe at the stunning view.
I have returned to the real world and have told everyone about our wonderful stay. Perhaps I shouldn't and i should really keep this little piece of paradise a secret because i know we will definitely be returning again and again and i'll be devastated if its booked out.
Thank you Robyn and Paul for an outstanding break.

We had an amazing time at this Hut. Robyn and Paul were very welcoming and over the 4 nights we spent there we were able to deeply relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, nature sounds and fresh air. We are expecting our first child and so this was our babymoon vacation and what a great place to have an abundance of quality time with your loved one to take stock before a very important year commences. I would strongly recommend this Hut to anyone who wants to digitally disappear for a few days, deeply relax and unwind with nature on your front door step, whilst still having access to very comfortable accommodation and facilities - the kitchen has everything you need to even cook your favourite Christmas recipes :)
Janine - Dec 2019
Awesomelingy beautiful place. Very grateful Robyn & Paul opened it up for us to stay in. Very well kept and fully equipped. Fresh eggs, fresh milk and other treats.
If you want to unwind, have brekkie with a beautiful view, cook a meal with a beautiful view, wake up with a beautiful view and watch the stars from your bed, this is for you.

🌟5 stars: excellent hosts and lovely taste and setting. Really recommend as a spot to unwind and reconnect. The hut has everything you need and more, it is comfortable well stocked and homely and simple (by design) and it is designed very well.
Matthew - Nov 2019
Three blissful days spent at the Hut. Forget checking the weather forecast, whatever nature serves up, the Rewa Hut is the place from which to watch it unfold. Everything you could need is provided, more kitchen equipment than we have at home, reading material, comfy inside and outside on the glorious deck (which has views forever). Just go, don’t think about it, and be assured the friendly hosts will be there to help your break at the hut be one to which you’ll be longing to repeat.

When you are yearning for silence, rest and solitude to recharge you batteries, this is the heavenly place to go, not just for 2 nights, make it four or more. The cabin more than meets the requirements, with immaculate finishing and all essential items to make your stay pleasurable. Imaging lying in the king size bed star gazing, and waking up every morning above the clouds. Robin and Paul the hosts are fantastic, and made us so welcome in their slice of paradise. The wood burner ensured the hut stay toasty and snug during the cold winter nights, and the symphony of rain on the zinc roof was absolutely fantastic. We had a soul reviving four nights at Rewa, and highly recommend it as a couples retreat, for the most essential bonding environment. Five stars fail to adequately grade or describe our fabulous experience. We will go to Rewa again soon. John & Jeanetta
John - Aug 2019
We booked it for accommodation and what we got was an experience. Beautiful luxury hut with everything needed to live there but nothing unnecessary. We left the hut feeling completely zen. The host were the nicest people, true Kiwi hospitality. The place is severely underpriced for what you get, so book ASAP before everyone else realises

About your host, Robyn
Hi, We've lived in the Okoki Valley for over 20 years. Together we operate a very small, sustainable dairy farm, milking 80 cows, once a day. We also breed thoroughbred horses.
We look forward to having you stay and sharing our small piece of nature with you.
