An absolute beachfront bed & breakfast located on the Great Coast Road north of Greymouth. Set amongst 2 acres of native bush and landscaped garden with plenty of outdoor seating to soak up the views.
Break away at this beautiful place, relax and enjoy all the peace it offers. It is pure tranquility and privacy on the West Coast of New Zealand.
With a private track for remote beach access for a lovely meander in search of pounamu often washed up on the seashore or take advantage of low tide and explore out on the rock pools with the mussel beds and starfish. It is a great place to base yourself for exploring the many hiking and biking trails, gold, and coal mining history the West Coast has to offer.
Finish your day relaxing in the comfort of your room with our great sea views or out on the balcony and enjoy the sun as it sets into the Tasman Sea. Then be lulled to sleep by the sound of breaking waves. Come share our wee slice of paradise.

Check in time: 3.00pm-6pm Please phone if going to be later than 6pm. 8pm latest checkin time. Guests welcome to arrive earlier by prior arrangement. Check out time: 10.00am. Guests welcome to walk on the beach after this time but room must be vacated to enable access for cleaning.
Eating and Drinking
Our breakfast menu offers a variety of freshly-prepared options, including freshly stewed seasonal fruit and local bacon. Our legendary Breakers Eggs Benedict is a favourite or our homemade pancakes - plain or banana. For guests needing an early get-a-way, we are happy to offer a breakfast pack for your room of fresh fruits, yoghurt, cereal, muffins, fruit juice, and tea or coffee.
For other meal options, Greymouth is an easy 10-12 minute drive south of Breakers and has a variety of dining options including Monteiths Brewery, Speights Alehouse, Sevenpenny and our personal favourite Priya Indian Restaurant. In Runanga, a short 5-minute drive is Top Shop Takeaways for traditional fish 'n chips or burger options.

Super King bed and single bed so suitable for double, twin or triple occupancy (additional fees apply). Decorated in warm neutral tones in keeping with our beachfront location. Large ensuite bathroom with shower.
A comfortable sitting area is provided looking out to sea and leading out on the deck. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the fabulous sea views and the sounds of the sea.
The rate for two people. Additional charges apply for the third person (maximum occupancy of three people). Rates include breakfast.
Driftwood is also disabled friendly with wheelchair ramp access, large spacious room, and disabled bathroom facilities with slide shower and hand rails provided.

Breakers is perched overlooking the Tasman sea with private track for remote beach access. Walking this beach and feeling like have it all to yourself.. With 2 acres of native bush and landscaped gardens it is so peaceful and relaxing. Love laying in bed and watching the surf and being lulled to sleep by the sound of the breaking waves. The family dogs are treasures, keep to themselves but invited love nothing more than a good snuggle or bit of a play. Watching the sun set in the evening and then being mesmerized by the star lit skies - feel like could pluck them from the air.
Jan is your main host at Breakers and is originally from Invercargill - the deep south of New Zealand. Invercargill is where she was born and raised before moving to Queenstown for 17 years. Jan moved to "the Coast" in 2004 with her beloved dog Jeddyboy and met Stephen in 2005. Jan loves the outdoors and enjoys mountain biking and hiking. She can provide you with a wealth of information, advice and suggestions on how best to maximise your experience of the West Coast as well as the South Island in general. Jan has a strong focus on sustainability and as such Breakers is proudly rated Qualmark GOLD 4* Plus Boutique & Lodge.
