Fun and unique place to stay. Scott went out of his way to help us with activities and directions. We loved the indoor/outdoor kitchen, cozy bedroom, bathtub and outdoor wood stove. Highly recommend if you like out of the ordinary travel experiences.

Gorgeous place in a peaceful setting. The craftsmanship and thoughtful touches that have gone into this place are really impressive. Lovely warm hospitality from the hosts. Thank you for another wonderful stay!

This incredible place deserves many, many more stars - we're so blown away by it that we've already made a further booking.
The outdoor woodburner cooked our sausages whilst we sat around it, relaxing with a drink & marvelling at how every piece of the huts had been made - from horse bit hand towel holders to the bathroom vanity made from a garden bench seat. Everything you could need is provided in the beautifully appointed kitchen, bathroom & cosy Shepherd Hut bedroom. Scott & Shona are exceptional hosts - wonderfully friendly but also superbly skilled having created this engineering masterpiece.

Fabulous stay, not to be missed. The attention to detail at the hut is outstanding. A perfect location to chill out for a couple of days, you will find everything you need at Old Brett Road. Just bring your food, a good bottle of wine and relax in this spectacular cottage. Transiting the North Island and need an overnight stay, forget the motels you will love this place!

We absolutely loved our stay here! Shona and Scott are great hosts and have thought of everything - the little touches like homemade bath salts made our stay so special. The bed was warm and comfy, the kitchen was extremely well stocked with cooking equipment and we loved the bath and outdoor fire. Thanks Shona and Scott!

This was my 2nd stay at Old Brett Road Hut within a month, but this time I brought my 9 year old grandson, and was able to share the uniqueness and history of the hut and its contents. Once again, Shona & Scott were very welcoming and
hospitable, and happy to share their knowledge and experience of the area. We also got to go fishing with significant success. A brilliant overnight stay for both my grandson and myself.

Our stay at Old Brett Road Hut was great. The hut is really quirky with a clever use of second- hand/ environmental type materials and a DYI mentality of Scott& Shona. Our hosts are fabulous people who made us so welcome.

Had everything I wanted and more. So many beautiful little details. Immediately felt very comfortable and relaxed. My idea of perfect. Above and beyond with the snacks and bath salts provided too. 10/10
