Our place is a private location for a few guests that are preferably self-contained. We do have water on the land and you can access our Starlink internet at our cabin. Other than that, you'll have cell coverage almost everywhere on the property. You'll love staying here because it has amazing views and scenery as it is close to native forests, rivers, streams and waterfalls. We have several spots on the property available, so you'll have privacy if you want.
As it is located directly at the State Highway 29, it's easily accessible, and we have gravel and dirt roads through the property.
The property is in the midst of nature, yet close to major towns such as Tauranga (20 min), Cambridge (45 min), Hamilton (1 hour). We are also only about 30 min away from Hobbiton (Matamata).
You're welcome to use a composting toilet and warm shower.
About your host, Doris
After traveling around Aotearoa, New Zealand by sea and land, Doris and Ata purchased Rakau Whenua in 2021 with the intention to strengthen the mauri (lifeforce) of the property and its people.

Our place is a private location at the beautiful Tuakopai river, offering access to discover multiple waterfalls, native bush and tall Tawa and Rimu forest. There are also plenty of seats and hammocks to relax in. You're welcome to use our composting toilets on the property and enjoy a warm/ hot outdoor shower.
We offer a welcoming relaxed environment preferably for self contained vans and motorhome or to pitch your tent. As there are several spots on the property available, you can have privacy if you want.
