Te Anau borders Fiordland National Park, which is an outdoor enthusiast's dream playground. It's the 'Walking Capital of New Zealand', is a UNESCO World Heritage Area for its stunning scenic beauty, and is home to the incredible Milford and Doubtful Sounds. What you may not know, is that it also has world-renowned trout fishing, gorgeous horse trekking (located right next door to us), incredible rock climbing along the Milford Road and a vivid night sky, perfect for star-gazing.
And after a busy day exploring Fiordland, whether by foot, boat, horse, bike or kayak, there's no better way to relax than coming 'home' to a warm house, stunning views and a relaxing soak in your own private NZ-made hot tub.

Eating and Drinking
The kitchenette includes a bench-height fridge with mini-freezer, sink, toaster, kettle and ‘bean to cup’ coffee machine, which uses fair trade, organic coffee beans.
In addition to this, you'll have tea, sugar and hot chocolate.
Of course, all cutlery, pots, pans, plates etc. are also available, as are the basics of salt, pepper and cooking oil.
For cooking, you have two electric hot plates and a small convection oven with microwave function. You couldn't cook a Sunday roast in it, but it should be fine for most of your travelling requirements.
Te Anau township is also just 6km away and has a multitude of different restaurants to choose from.

About your host, Susanna
We’re passionate about Fiordland, and love to get out and explore it whenever we get the chance. Having a young family means that we are enjoying a slightly slower pace of life these days, but we’re looking forward to being able to get out and do more hiking, mountain biking and skiing / snowboarding as a family.
Glen is an Ecologist, and runs the takahē programme here in Te Anau. He has a wealth of knowledge on New Zealand's plants and wildlife, and can help answer any questions that you may have.
Susanna grew up in England, and travelled extensively until I found Te Anau in 2012, which I instantly fell in love with and deemed to be ‘the most beautiful part of the most beautiful country in the world’. I’ve held many tourism-focused positions since moving here, including a season sharing my knowledge of Fiordland with visitors at the Fiordland National Park Visitor Centre, and two years managing Fiordland Cinema (a definite ‘must see’!). I’ve also spent many years in voluntary community committees, organising internationally-renowned events such as as the ‘Kepler Challenge’, and the ‘Te Anau Tennis Invitational’. I’m now extremely grateful to be able to spend every waking moment with our young son, and to help guests to enjoy our little piece of paradise.
