Escape to a quiet pocket in the country and stay at Raglan Country Retreat, boutique accommodation ten minutes drive from the coastal town of Raglan.
Enjoy the best of everything; the buzz of the town, the roar of the surf, then retreat to the valley for a restful nights sleep.
The Retreat is on a dead-end gravel road situated on an 18-acre lifestyle block surrounded by farmland. Wake up in the peaceful valley, with a peep of the wind farm turbines over the hill.
The converted barn is renovated to a high-spec with quality linen and furnishings. The front patio is gated off the driveway and planted in herbs and vegetables for your use. The red door leads to the horse stables at the back.
The space was created from many recycled and preloved materials. The fireplace mantle is from the 120yo villa. The native timber vanity, ladder, mezzanine edge protection and rafters are made from the original farmhouse that was demolished by hand. The gates are from India, and yes... the meat chiller works!
The whole accommodation space is for guest use. You'll be left to your privacy and enjoyment. The rear of the barn holds stables and yards where the owner may be from time to time.
The owner lives onsite in the villa 200m away out of view from the barn. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to knock on the door.

Sarah has such a beautiful place with everything you need! 10/10 recommend! I hope to be back soon!

A cute & cozy little bach in the countryside a short drive from Raglan. My best friend & I spent a girls weekend here and we absolutely loved it. Morning coffee walks down the long road driveway, friendly dog Wilco who cheekily accompanied us, peaceful & quiet during the day, has all the amenities you need (no microwave but that made cooking more fun), a small bbq which we made use of, old school coffee maker which I absolutely LOVED learning to use accompanied by Raglan coffee and some milk supplied. For anyone wondering about the compost toilet - we didn't mind it so much but my friend did say she wouldn't come with her partner lol. I will definitely book again in the future so thank you Sarah for the lovely stay.

"Sarah has created a great little rural getaway. Stylish and tasteful. Very clean accomodation. Sarah was very friendly and most helpful. We would certainly return in the future. Recommend the Bridal Veil Falls closeby .. a must."
"What you see is exactly what you get!!
It was absolutely fabulous, cosy, and comfortable. Close to Raglan, and lots of lovely walks!
Couldn’t recommend it more"
"As a birthday treat my partner and I had a couple days here. Could not recommend highly enough! Sarah, you have done such an amazing job of the accomodation. We are always more interested in the slightly out of the ordinary/quirky places and this absolutely was right up our alley. Top notch on cleanliness, comfort and company with Wilco frequently checking in on us😂 We hope to return very soon!"
