Located 365 metres above sea level, the B&B is 30 minutes' drive from Tauranga's town centre and Tauranga Airport. It is 35 minutes' drive from Mt Maunganui. Rotorua is a 45-minute drive away.
Shared facilities include a communal lounge area with a dining setting, and a library of books and games. BBQ facilities are also provided for guest use.
The property is ideally located for bush-walking and hiking. You can also visit and hand-feed the on-site Mount Tutu sheep.
We offer a rustic and authentic experience with the charm and hospitality of yesteryear. A unique opportunity to stay within a wildlife sanctuary for a 2-night minimum. We have a natural wonderland of Glow Worms, which guests experience in a personally guided tour that is included in the room rate, and also a Rainforest Eco-Tour and hearty breakfasts. Expansive gardens, bush walks, Glow Worms & starry skies. Cosy rainforest huts with ensuite, built using recycled materials (1970's retro decor).

About your host, Tim & Debbie
Tim and Debbie, nature lovers, have been privileged to have been guardians/owners of the sanctuary for over 30 years and open for guests since 2006.
"We have restored the Sanctuary to a natural wilderness and love life in our bush hideaway, where we have raised our 3 daughters, Rebecca, Jacinda and Louisa."
As the Conservators (Kaitiaki) of Mount Tutu Eco-Sanctuary, Tim and Debbie will expand your awareness of New Zealand's ecology.
In 1993 they protected the Sanctuary forever with a Covenant on their Property Title to the Queen Elizabeth II National Trust and are Life Members of the QEII National Trust.
