Escape to nature in this unique off-grid woolshed retreat, set on 8 acres of tranquil native bush.
With cozy sleeping areas, a fully equipped rustic kitchen, indoor woodfire, outdoor campfire, and even a private waterfall, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, disconnect, and enjoy the simplicity of bush living.
Just 500m off SHW 4, the property offers easy access while feeling a world away. Being about 10mins drive north of Ohakune means supermarket, cafes, walks at the base of Ruapehu and mountain bike shops & shuttles are nearby. The famous "Old Coach Road" mountain bike track starts from the cabin and the shuttle for the "Bridge to Nowhere" goes past the gate. In winter, the ski fields on Mt Ruapehu (Whakapapa and Turoa) are each only 30mins drive from the gate.
Ideal for families, couples, or small groups seeking a peaceful getaway.

Privacy and back-to-basics living with mountain bike trails, and bush walks on the doorstep.
Our family has owned the property for 25 years and still enjoy great times at Horopito - skiing, biking and kicking back. It's there to enjoy and respect for likeminded people.
