We pride ourselves on being a GridFree, eco-friendly, self-sufficient farmstay accommodation. Our source of power for both houses is driven by solar. The cottage is surrounded by native trees that Biddy and Rich have planted. Seed has been collected from Stubbs farm, nurtured and planted back into it’s natural environment for future generations to enjoy.
Walk the Misty mountain track 1hr15mins or Rocks track 30mins that takes you though part of the 800 acre QE11 bush reserve on Stubbs farm. Biddy and Rich cut these tracks with daughters Hazel and Fern during lockdown 2020.

Enjoy Stubbs Farm Cottage (aka Rock Retreat B&B) accommodation with your hosts Biddy Stubbs and Rich Kersel, daughters Hazel and Fern.
Biddy grew up on the farm and the Stubbs family have lived on the here for five generations. Harriet and Hugh Stubbs moved from Timaru, in the South Island in the early 1900's.
Stubbs farm is a 1666 acre working sheep and cattle farm nestled in the King Country, near Waitomo Caves, North Island, New Zealand. Biddy's brother Ben now farms the farm. It includes over 800 acres of native bush reserved by QE11 covenant, along with North Islands key areas for bouldering and caving on classic limestone.
