Un-hosted and with no other dwelling for at least 4kms, it is a secluded log cabin overlooking a tranquil native bush valley and is a luxurious and unique getaway. Our Eco-friendly, boutique accommodation is set on our award winning 2000 hectare working sheep and beef farm in an exclusive, private and remote location in Otago.
Perfect for honeymooners, romantic getaways, family holidays or a chance to experience a taste of real New Zealand and diverse private walking tracks and trails, our retreat offers a little something for everyone. Located just 30 minutes from Dunedin International Airport, 50 minutes from Dunedin City, 50 minutes from The Catlins and 1 hour from the beginning of Central Otago.

We offer delicious gourmet basket selections with local produce for self-catering or alternatively guests can choose to enjoy their own private chef and have a gourmet home style 3 course meal cooked and served the them overlooking the stunning panoramic views. Alternatively, the retreat is also self contained, with a gas oven, microwave, BBQ, Fridge and small freezer for guests use. All utensils, crockery etc. are included at the Retreat.

The retreat is an authentic hand crafted Oregon log chalet which is completely ‘off the grid’ using solar and hydro electricity, gas for hot water and cooking, a large open fire to roast marshmallows on and abundant bird life to view in the immediate surrounds. Our guests enjoy exclusive use of private walking tracks that vary from 5 minutes to 1 day and leave directly from the retreat. A perfect way for guests to finish the day is to soak in the steaming hot outdoor baths while enjoying the serenity and seclusion that the retreat offers.
All rooms offer platinum sheets, luxury bathrobes and towels.

Ours is a unique, special log cabin property that is immersed in nature and stunning surrounds. 100% private and uninterrupted, it is the perfect getaway to enjoy luxury and a wonderful experience 'off the beaten track'. A soak in the steaming hot outdoor baths overlooking the beautiful native bush below is a true highlight for many guests.
Catering for 2 people, this generous 'self-prepare' basket offers nibbles, 3 dinner selections to choose from, and 2 delectable dessert options to choose from. In addition to this amazing dinner menu, our talented chef has also included streaky bacon, free range eggs and a homemade loaf of bread with spreads to top off your morning when teamed with your complimentary continental breakfast. Please note this dinner basket is only available when booked atleast 1-week prior to your stay dates.

As avid travellers who love finding new and interesting corners of the earth when we travel, we have loved designing building and opening the retreat to our guests. Dave's love of woodwork and Janene's background in tourism in both Europe and NZ have created a dream that we love to share with others, "A little taste of luxury in a little slice of Paradise".
