We make it easy to get Off The Beaten Track. Search for properties from the homepage, you can refine the search by entering the destination you want to visit kinds of accommodation or activities you want to enjoy. You will be provided with all the properties that match your criteria. Follow the prompts to set up your free account when you are ready to make an inquiry or a booking.
As long as you enter travel dates, and number of guests, the availability for the chosen accommodation will be made available to you. Our landowners are recommended their calendars are kept up to date to be accurate.
The OTBT community is built on reputation and also holiday makers reviews play a huge part in the success of this. We encourage every holidaymaker to review and rate every stay.
Every listing on OTBT has set a nightly base price and landowners will indicate the group size this covers. For example, a host may set their base price at $20 per night, for 2 people.
When you visit a property on OTBT you will see various accommodation options which you can select to book your holiday. Once you have selected your dates and made your reservation you will be taken to the confirmation screen where you will be able to create an account and pay for your holiday. At this point, you will need to agree to the OTBT terms and conditions.
We collect your credit card details at the time of booking, but we won't charge your card until the landowner has confirmed your booking.

Cancellations can be organised through the holidaymaker dashboard. If you cancel after the booking has been accepted and confirmed, your booking will be subject to the terms of the cancellation policy selected by the host.
When a host has confirmed your booking request, you'll receive an email confirming the details including all arrival and relevant contact details. You will be able to login to OTBT and view any messages relating to your booking and communicate with the landowner directly through the message area.

No. OTBT accepts payments in $NZD only. If you're making a booking from another country, your payment will be converted into $NZD automatically.
To cover the costs of OTBT website and services, we charge holiday makers a small service fee every time a booking is confirmed. This fee is 10% and this amount can be found on the booking payment page before you pay for your booking.
OTBT accepts the three major credit card providers - Visa, Mastercard & American Express. Visa Debit & Mastercard Debit/Maestro is also accepted.
We do not save your credit card details on OTBT. Whenever you make a new booking your account details will help speed up the process for you but you will be asked to add your credit card details at each booking.
You will be emailed a booking acceptance/receipt at the time of a booking. If you need to access these again, you can login to your account and click on “Your Holidays” to find them. If you require a GST receipt, please request one from the landowner upon arrival.
