About your host, Bridget
Tipapa Deer Park is proudly owned and operated by Tim and Bridget, along with their boys, Jock and Artie. The lodge is nestled within a working deer farm, dedicated to velvet stag production — a unique and specialised part of New Zealand’s farming heritage.
Farming runs deep in our family. Tim’s grandfather, Don Robertson, and his wife Bobbie settled in the Hurunui district after World War II, eventually farming several properties in the region — including Tipapa. Although the land Tipapa Deer Park now occupies passed out of the family in the 1970s, we’re proud to have brought it back — restoring a meaningful chapter of our family’s history.
We’re honoured to now share this special place with guests
