Staying in a fresh and serene country environment away from the hustle and stress of city living. Friendly and devoted owners.

We felt like royalty and the company and conversation was measured, balanced and convivial. A wonderful experience! Cannot recommend Summit Lodge highly enough.

Thank you, Jim and Tracey. Everything about our stay was perfect. We hope to return soon and we will definitely be recommending the summit lodge to others.

About your host, Tracey and Jim

Tracey and Jim built this place as somewhere they would want to stay if they were visiting! Guests are provided with privacy and their own space but have their hosts available for as much or as little interaction as the guests want.

Your hosts both have corporate backgrounds and have travelled extensively. Jim plays golf whenever he can whilst Tracey is a keen photographer and is involved with local politics. Both share a passion for cooking and good wine and they love entertaining. Dinner with Tracey and Jim is informal and relaxed.

Complimentary pre-dinner drinks are often available for those who want to socialise and dinners are a very sociable affair, set around the large, oak table in the kitchen/dining room. Guests, can, however, opt to eat out or they can request an informal platter to be served in the lounge - the choice is yours.

Also we have few of friendly cats - Lhotse and Gimli the fluffy Birmans, Cino and Monte the Burmese and Osca the old retainer - free-range chickens, a herd of very curious alpacas who love being hand-fed by guests and the very sociable chocolate Labrador dog, Dexter.
